I recently blogged about working out at local sports grounds. Rather than driving past, I decided to go into the University of Pretoria's High Performance Centre in Hatfield, Pretoria. It was one of those random visits with a wonderful companion.

Having studied my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at the University of Pretoria, I have been there several times for many jogs and matches at the nearby Tuks Stadium. I have been there to attend events as well as to go in and out of their gym and/or or to visit friends.

The accommodation is clean and looks rather nice from a distance. I enjoy watching the little ones swim or grabbing a bite to eat at the food establishment on the premises. I absolutely love their gym. The building itself is warm and inviting. The conferences there are decent and well catered for. There's little not to love about this place.

I really like the buzz of sitting and watching young and older athletes buzzing around as they do their thing. I enjoy the atmosphere and can't get enough of it. Sometimes I go to watch matches, my favourite has to be the little ones training to swim like champs in the pool. The staff is friendly and professional. The place inviting.

On this particular evening, I went with the most wonderful companion to the University of Pretoria's High Performance Centre. It was in the evening and I really wanted to take a walk on grass, twirl under the stars and just stretch my body a little bit.

Rather than opting for movies or crowded dinner spots, such places have a way of calming your soul and keeping you moving in a forward direction. It was wonderful. It's beautiful. It's quite. I really love it. When you are around the area, do consider popping in. It's one of those sprts fundi places that somehow always surpass expectations.
